Something My Mum Had Said (:

This is just a little something my Mum had said and I couldn't agree more with it!!

You know what our monstrous mistake is? We try to fix the people in our life. You can never fix anyone. Because fixing is an inside job. Never forced from the outside.

Yes, you should inspire. You should guide. You should teach. But you cannot force. At the end of the day, the only thing you can do is to love the person by creating space for that person to fix themselves.

One Step At A Time...

It's now July and I'm on my last week of the holidays, so far I've made little progress. Haven't heard much from STB so for now there's not much I can do! Although recently I have been looking at accommodation and flights, considering on leaving the 5th or 6th of January and hopefully please Mummy book a sky couch seat through Air New Zealand. With accommodation I found a few hotels in Orlando near where I'll be staying, four star and they're very nice :) These are just a few I've come across...

there is SOOO much I want to do over there before checking into Disney World but for now it's all saving every cent I can - HA who am I kidding, I CAN'T SAVE. Even if I wanted to =/

On that thought there's a ton of things I want to do here before I leave, spend as much time as I can with friends and family. Also Rhythm and Vines, holeeeyyyy moleeeyyyy I CAN'T WAITT! Kirstin, Rachel and I are going to have the most amazing time, and once again I'll be spending a hunk of a load of money, money which I don't have fml. This semester is going to be a busy one, yep a busy one indeed. With polytech paper work and crap I just can't wait for it to be over,  and its already July, just waiting for August to hurry up and be here already so I can get my police background check out of the way.

Looking at the shit rainy weather from my room outside, this time next year it'll be summer in Florida and I'll be soaking up the warm sun by the pool. So I guess this weather will be the only thing I won't miss. Driving and going to town will be though, have to be 21 over there to go to town which reallllyy annoys me :(
So from being a poor student to working at Disney World with other people from all around the world I have jumped a milestone, which is scary but I'm overly excited at the same time too. Speaking to other people especially my friends I am so grateful to have this opportunity given to me. The only thing to do is live it up, while I can :) Love my friends, don't know what I'd do without them

SERIOUSLY GOING TO MISS YOU GUYS !! :(

Kelsi, Sarah, Kirstin, & Rachelle - I'll miss you most, even if you do live all the way in Aussie Rachelle ha but yeah I have met some amazing people this year that have changed my life completely and it means a lot. PS - Sarah Gower-Rudman, you have made being 18 for me so much fun x.
- Moment of insanity haha. Guess this sums it all up really. Coming up this month is Kirstin's 18th which we're both looking forward to next weekend in Hamilton, tec starts up again and I think me and the fam bam are going to Rotorua this weekend. So will update later when we hear back from STB.

Getting Started With The Dream

 Hi All!

So I thought it might be a good idea if I created a blog & it's going to be about my pathway along to working at Disney World and experiencing America and everything that goes along with it! So basically some people from around New Zealand and I have luckily enough had the opportunity to work at Walt Disney World over in Orlando next year. I found out about this Internship program through my event management course at Polytechnic, to be honest I didn't want to go at first, but that all changed after I realised that this is a once an a life time opportunity & by taking everyone's thoughts on it I thought why the hell not.

About a week and a half ago STB Australia had given our official start dates - 7th of January 2012! Doesn't really give me much time to save! Regarding to STB they are our contact to the program and had recently received a police background check form to sort out plus on top of that is the visa which means interviews. It's all so close but so far away!
Seeing as Disney starts on the 7th I'll be thinking about traveling with a few other as group flight on the 4th of Jan since Rhythm n' Vines finish's on the 2nd. So whats left to organise are the police check, flights, visa, insurance, accommodation, and planning to get a BIG suitcase at some stage. A majority of us are also planning to get hoodies slash t-shirts! xx
